Pre-Deployment Preparation and Jitters

Hello, I'm Andrew Ellis and this is my first post, and I’m absolutely thrilled to be a part of Tanzania Team 7. Our team of 15 is just about a week away from our deployment and the preparations are at full throttle.  We’ll all be meeting up on September 9 in Dar Es Salaam to begin our adventure.  I’ll be joining our team and representing IBM GBS US out of New York.

The team has been broken up into three sub teams, so we can serve three different hosts while in Tanzania.  All three teams presented their work plans during the weekly preparation call this morning, which was quite exciting, as the reality has set in on the great work that we will be performing in Tanzania.

My team (sub-team 1) will be working with the Tanzania Posts Corporation (TPC) to position them as a multi-agency provider, basically looking how TPC can best position the organization to compete in today’s marketplace and offer services beyond postal delivery.  There is still a lot of research to perform before we arrive, but I am confident we are off to a good start.

This post will also serve as the test to ensure that the IBM Social Aggregator picks up the blog entries.  So, with that I’ll type #IBMCSC #Tanzania and cross my fingers…

Until next time,

- Andrew Ellis
